What DAP Assistant Does

DAP Assistant is a Chrome extension that records, shares, and replays workflow guidance on websites. It highlights interactive elements and provides step-by-step instructions.

Data We Collect

When you use the Guide feature, the extension sends a simplified representation of interactive DOM elements (tag names, text labels, element indices) to our server for AI-powered instruction generation. This data is:

• Processed in real time and not stored permanently on our servers
• Used only to generate the next guidance instruction
• Discarded when the guide session ends

Workflows

Recorded workflows are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) unless you explicitly choose to share them. Shared workflows are stored on our server and accessible via a share link.

What We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information (name, email, etc.)
• No browsing history
• No cookies or authentication tokens
• No page content beyond interactive element metadata

Third-Party Services

We use Google Gemini to generate guidance instructions. DOM element metadata (not page content) is sent to Google's API for processing, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties beyond what is described above.
